Project Runway’ designers create wedding gowns for Kate Middleton

Following the upcoming royal wedding between ‘commoner’ Kate Middleton and United Kingdom’s Prince William, the media coverage about this event goes everywhere. It seems like all anyone cares about this event and especially what will the future princess wear on this century wedding.

We’ve heard from designers who are denying they’re making the dress, from designers who wish they were making the dress, to designers who had their hand in designing wedding dresses for previous Royal Wedding parties. Of course, there is no exception for the leading program about fashion. Now it is time for ‘Project Runway’ alumni from seasons past to have their say about the wedding gown.

More than 50 ‘Project Runway’ designers from each previous season all submitted their fantasy sketches for how they would dress Kate Middleton for her big day. The sketches ranged from Daniel Franco’s Swarovski encrusted Chantilly lace creation with an 11 foot train to bridal designer Heidi Elnora’s clean and simple obi belted dress. ‘Season Six’ designer Nicholas Putvinski’s design even has the future Queen strutting down the aisle bedecked with gold and silver feathers.

After all, five of the designers; Emilio Sosa, Jonathan Kayne, Leanne Marshall, Irina Shabayeva, and Nick Verreos were selected to have their fantasy sketches turned into actual wedding gowns that were unveiled Monday, April 18th on the Today Show. They are just amazing. These beautiful wedding gowns are now being available online for a very limited time. Proceeds from the sale are being donated to charity.

It is extremely encouraging that we can shop wedding dresses from the internet. Online stores such as www.shopsimple.com, www.amazon.com brings us many convenience and surprises. Whatever Kate choose and wear, we do believe it will be a stunning outfit to blow everyone away. Let us wait and see.
